What are the requirements for aircraft inspections?
In Colorado, aircraft inspections are required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to help ensure the safety of the aircraft. An aircraft must be inspected at least every 12 calendar months, as well as each time modifications or repairs are made to the aircraft. During an inspection, the aircraft must be inspected to see that it is in compliance with the applicable FAA regulations. In addition to the mandatory annual inspections, the FAA also requires that the aircraft be inspected regularly to ensure its overall safety and airworthiness. This includes visual inspections of the airframe, engines, accessories, and continued airworthiness records. During these inspections, any problems or discrepancies must be identified and corrected. The FAA also requires recurring inspections of the aircraft’s airworthiness certificate and radio station license to make sure they are still valid. All aircraft owners, operators, and pilots must also submit an annual report to the FAA that contains the aircraft’s maintenance and operation records. Furthermore, the FAA requires that any changes or modifications to the aircraft be put into service only after they have been approved by the FAA. These modifications may include altering the design or structure of the aircraft, its systems, or its components. By performing regular inspections, Colorado pilots can maintain the safety and airworthiness of their aircraft and ensure that they are in compliance with all applicable FAA regulations.
