Are there any restrictions on the possession of cannabis by minors?
In Tennessee, minors are not allowed to possess cannabis in any amount or form. The laws in Tennessee are very strict regarding the possession of cannabis by minors. According to the law, anyone under the age of 21 caught with marijuana, no matter how small the amount, could face criminal charges. Possession of less than one ounce of marijuana is punishable by a fine of up to $250 and up to eleven months and twenty-nine days of incarceration. Additionally, minors in Tennessee are not allowed to use or possess any drug paraphernalia, which includes items that are commonly associated with marijuana use, such as pipes or rolling papers. Possession of drug paraphernalia by a minor can result in a fine of up to $2,500 and up to a year of imprisonment. Lastly, minors are not allowed to purchase or consume marijuana or any other cannabis products. Any minor found to be in possession of cannabis products or found to be under the influence of marijuana could face very serious consequences, including fines and incarceration.
