Are there any limits on the types of cannabis concentrates that can be legally sold?

Yes, in Mississippi, there are limits on the types of cannabis concentrates that can be legally sold. Under Mississippi Law, cannabis concentrates include “any resin, wax, hash oil, shatter, tincture, gummy, or other form of cannabis extract.” It is illegal to possess, cultivate, transport, and/or sell any form of cannabis concentrates in Mississippi. The Mississippi Medical Marijuana Law of 2021 made it legal for certain qualified patients with qualifying medical conditions to possess and use prescribed forms of cannabis derivatives, such as CBD oil, up to a certain limit. However, this does not legalize all types of cannabis extracts and concentrates. Only those specifically identified as “medical marijuana products” can be legally purchased and used. In addition, the Mississippi Law does not allow for the recreational use and/or sale of cannabis or any cannabis concentrates. It is illegal to purchase, sell, transport, or possess any cannabis concentrates for recreational purposes. This includes the sale of cannabis extracts and concentrates in retail stores, gas stations, and/or dispensaries. To summarize, there are limits on the types of cannabis concentrates that can be legally sold in Mississippi. Only those specifically identified in the Mississippi Medical Marijuana Law of 2021 are legal, and only qualified patients with qualifying medical conditions can purchase and use them. All other forms of cannabis concentrates are illegal and cannot be sold, purchased, transported, or possessed.
