Are there limits on the amount of cannabis that can be purchased at one time?

In Mississippi, cannabis laws regulate the amount of cannabis that can be purchased at one time. Mississippi currently does not allow for the sale of any cannabis or cannabis-infused products for recreational use. However, individuals may possess up to 2.5 ounces of cannabis for medical use, if they have been issued a medical use card from the Mississippi Department of Health. In order for a person to purchase medical cannabis, they must first be diagnosed with a qualifying medical condition and obtain a medical use card. The amount of cannabis that can be purchased per purchase is limited to 2.5 ounces, and a patient may not purchase more than 2.5 ounces in a 14-day period. It is important to note that individuals without a medical use card are not allowed to possess any amount of cannabis for medical or recreational purposes. Possession of any amount is illegal and punishable under state law. In essence, Mississippi’s cannabis laws limit the amount of cannabis that can be purchased in a given period of time. Individuals must first be issued a medical use card by the Mississippi Department of Health. Patients with a valid medical use card are allowed to purchase up to 2.5 ounces of cannabis per purchase, and may not exceed 2.5 ounces in a 14-day period. Any amount purchased or possessed without a valid medical use card is subject to criminal penalties under Mississippi state law.
