In the state of Colorado, there are several consumer rights that you have when it comes to prepaid cards. Under Colorado law, you have the right to know the fees associated with your prepaid card. This includes the fees that may be charged for loading money onto the card, making purchases, and withdrawing funds from ATMs. You have the right to receive written disclosure of these fees and any other terms and conditions that come with the card. You also have the right to know the length of time that any money loaded onto the card will stay active before it is considered abandoned. Under Colorado law, any funds that remain unused on the card for one year after the last use of the card, or three years after the date the funds were loaded, may be considered abandoned by the issuer and may become the property of the issuer.
