What is employment law?
Employment law is a branch of law that governs the relationship between employers and employees. It concerns the rights and obligations of both parties in the workplace. In Massachusetts, state and federal laws provide protection for both employers and employees. This includes wage and hour regulations, payment of overtime, and minimum wage requirements. Additionally, employment laws also regulate the ways employers are allowed to discipline employees, and provide protections for workers who are discriminated against or harassed in the workplace. All employers must adhere to employment laws of the state of Massachusetts. It is important for employers to understand the employment laws of the state and comply with them. If an employer fails to do so, they may be held liable for any violations. Moreover, employees must be aware of their rights under the law in order to advocate for themselves in the workplace.
