Can an employer require an employee to work overtime?

In West Virginia, employers can require employees to work overtime. However, there are certain limits and regulations that must be followed. According to the West Virginia Code, employers are not allowed to require an employee to work more than eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week, unless the employee agrees to work longer and is paid for that time accordingly.
