What is the H-3 trainee visa?

The H-3 trainee visa is a United States visa issued by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to foreign nationals who wish to enter the United States to receive training that is not available in their home country. It is a nonimmigrant visa, meaning it is temporary. To obtain an H-3 trainee visa in Florida, the foreign national must file a Form I-129, Petition for Nonimmigrant Worker with the USCIS and must prove to the USCIS that the training is not available in their home country. In addition, the applicant must be sponsored by an employer in the United States, and the sponsor must provide adequate proof that the training opportunity will benefit the foreign national after they return to their home country. The H-3 trainee visa is also limited to a maximum of two years, and the foreign national cannot change their status from H-3 visa to another visa while in the United States. As of July 2020, the USCIS is still accepting and processing applications for the H-3 trainee visa.
