What is the TN visa?

The TN visa is a type of non-immigrant visa available to individuals of certain countries who wish to come to the United States to work. It is a special visa for citizens of Canada and Mexico to work in the U.S. under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). This type of visa is available to Mexican and Canadian citizens with certain specialties, including professionals, scientists, managers, and others. The TN visa allows those with this visa to work in the U.S. for up to three years, and it can be renewed indefinitely. However, the TN visa holder must leave the U.S. for at least one day every six months to renew it. This type of visa is not employer-specific, meaning that the holder may change employers while in the U.S. on the visa. In Florida, TN visas are regulated by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) under federal law. Individuals seeking a TN visa must submit a petition to USCIS and provide documentation to prove that they have the right qualifications to work in their specialty. Additionally, they must provide evidence that they are a legal resident of Mexico or Canada. In most cases, the USCIS will approve a TN visa petition as long as the individual meets the qualifications set forth by immigration laws.
