In Texas, an L-1 visa is a type of work visa that is reserved for foreign nationals who are being transferred to an existing branch, subsidiary, or affiliate of the same company in the United States. Once the L-1 visa is approved, the foreign national may legally work in the United States for up to five years. After five years, the foreign national may apply for a green card to be eligible for permanent residence.
