What is the H-3 trainee visa?
The H-3 trainee visa is a nonimmigrant visa available to people who want to come to the United States to receive training in any field. This visa is typically used for individuals who want to work in the U.S. temporarily and gain job skills, knowledge, and other abilities. In order to qualify for an H-3 trainee visa, the applicant must be sponsored by an organization or individual in the U.S. The organization must provide the primary training for the applicant. Additionally, the training cannot benefit the sponsor directly in terms of its operational activities. The H-3 trainee visa is valid for a period of up to two years and may be extended for an additional six months. The applicant may not work full-time or receive money for the training. However, the applicant can receive a stipend or subsistence allowance to cover living expenses. Applicants must show that they have enough financial resources to cover their living and training expenses. Additionally, they must have proof of medical insurance. In Washington, employers must file a petition with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to receive an H-3 visa. The petition must include details about the applicant, the sponsor, and the training program. Once approved, the applicant can file an application for the visa.
