How do I transfer my green card to a new employer?
Transferring a green card to a new employer in Florida requires a few steps depending on the situation. If you are transferring your green card from a current employer to a new employer, the current employer must first file a Form I-140 Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker with the USCIS Immigration Service. This form requests that the USCIS approve the petition for the transfer of your employment-based green card. Once the current employer has filed the petition with the USCIS, the new employer can file an I-140 Supplement Form, which provides evidence that the current employer has already approved the transfer. The Supplement Form must include the receipt of the I-140 petition, a letter from the current employer authorizing the transfer of the green card, and a letter from the new employer stating that they will be responsible for the employment. The new employer must also file an I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status to include in the Supplement Form.
