What is the I-20 form?
The I-20 form is an important document for international students that wish to study in the United States. It is issued by the college or university that a student has been accepted to. It is considered a Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (F-1) Student Status and is required by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for students studying in the United States. The I-20 form details the courses which the student plans to pursue and the estimated cost of those courses. It also includes the student’s name, address, date of birth, country of citizenship, and the school’s name. It also includes details about the sponsors, such as the student’s parents or guardians, who may be providing financial support for the student’s education. The I-20 form is a necessary step for international students applying for a visa to study in Kansas. Once they receive the form, they must complete it and submit it to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. They should then follow all instructions and provide all other supporting documents that may be required. Once the I-20 form has been submitted and approved, the student will be issued a student visa. With this, they can then legally reside in the United States and study at a school in Kansas.
