Applicants must also submit a DACA application, which includes a personal statement about their situation and other information. Once the application is received, the USCIS will review it and either approve or deny the case. If approved, the USCIS will issue a work permit and deferred action status. This status does not offer a path to citizenship, but it does provide relief from deportation and permission to work or go to school in the U.S.
