What is the process for filing an application for an L visa?

In order to obtain an L visa in Hawaii, applicants must fulfill several steps in the application process. First, applicants must have an employer who is willing to sponsor their visa. The employer will submit a petition on behalf of the applicant to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), along with all relevant documents such as a copy of the applicant’s passport, evidence of employer’s status, evidence of any current nonimmigrant visas, and supporting documentation for the position. After the USCIS has reviewed and approved the application, the applicant can begin the visa processing with the U.S. Department of State. The applicant must provide the Department of State with a copy of the approved USCIS petition, a valid passport, two passport-size photographs, evidence of the employer’s requirement such as the labor condition application, and the visa application fee. Once the Department of State has approved the visa application, the applicant must complete the immigrant visa processing at the U.S. Embassy in their home country. This requires the applicant to provide biometrics, medical documentation, police certificates, and other required documents. Finally, if all of the requirements are met, the U.S. Embassy will issue the applicant their L visa.
