How do I obtain a medical marijuana card?

In order to obtain a medical marijuana card in Virginia, you must provide evidence of your qualifying medical condition. You will also need written certification from a registered practitioner such as a physician, nurse practitioner, or physician’s assistant who is licensed to practice in Virginia. You can find qualified practitioners by searching the Virginia Board of Pharmacy’s website. After obtaining a written certification, you will need to fill out an application and submit it along with the certification to the Virginia Board of Pharmacy. The application will include personal information and medical history, and you may also be required to submit medical records or other documents. Once your application is approved, you will be issued a medical marijuana card. This card will allow you to legally purchase medical marijuana in Virginia from a dispensary that is licensed to sell it. You will need to renew your medical marijuana card annually, so be sure to keep track of your expiration date.
