What is the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program?
The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program is a federal program administered by the Social Security Administration (SSA) in California that provides monthly cash payments to people who are 65 or older, blind, or disabled and who have limited income and resources. This program helps these individuals to maintain a basic standard of living. The SSI program is designed to assist those who have a disability and who have limited financial resources to pay for their daily living expenses.
