Are there any special benefits available for veterans who are veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom?

Yes, veterans in California who have served in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) may be eligible for some special benefits. The California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) provides several programs and services for veterans of OEF. One of the most important benefits available to veterans of OEF is a loan program. Through the CalVet Loan Guaranty Program, veterans have access to guaranteed-rate financing for home purchases and refinances. This loan program is available to both active duty and veteran service members who have served in the U.S. armed forces during Operation Enduring Freedom. In addition, veterans of OEF may be eligible for other CalVet benefits such as tax exemptions, waiver of fees, and priority registration for state higher education. Other benefits may include financial assistance for housing, employment services, veterans’ service officer representation, and legal assistance. In addition to CalVet programs, veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom may be eligible for VA disability benefits, educational assistance, and other programs offered through the federal government. Veterans of OEF may also qualify for health care benefits, including the VA health care system. Veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom have made great sacrifices to protect the United States and should be honored for their service. By taking advantage of the special benefits available for veterans of OEF, veterans in California can make the most of their military service.
