How do I submit evidence to the VA when appealing a decision?

When appealing a decision to the VA, you must provide evidence that supports the appeal. Depending on the nature of the appeal, evidence can include medical records, letters from doctors, financial records, and other documents related to your claim. In California, in order to submit evidence to the VA, you must use the VA Form 21-0958 called "Submission of Evidence in Support of a Claim." This form allows you to list the evidence you are submitting, such as medical records, to support your claim. The form also requires that you provide an explanation of your appeal and how the evidence you are submitting supports that claim. Submitting evidence in support of your appeal can be done in one of three ways. You can submit your evidence in person to the VA Regional Office in your state, submit it by mail, or submit it online through the eBenefits portal. When submitting your evidence, make sure to keep a copy of everything you submit to the VA, just in case any of it is lost or misplaced. Finally, make sure that when submitting your evidence to the VA, you follow all instructions on the form and provide as much pertinent information as you can. Doing this will ensure that your evidence is processed quickly and your appeal is taken seriously.
