What types of benefits are covered by wage and hour law?

Wage and hour law is a set of laws that provides employees with certain protections regarding their wages, hours, and other benefits. In the state of Arizona, wage and hour law covers a variety of benefits that employers must provide to their employees. One of the main benefits covered by wage and hour law is minimum wage. Minimum wage is the minimum amount of money an employer must pay their employees each hour. In Arizona, all employers must pay their employees at least the federally mandated minimum wage, or the local minimum wage if it is higher than the federal rate. In addition to minimum wage, wage and hour laws also cover overtime pay. This means employers must pay employees one and a half times their regular wage when they work more than 40 hours in a workweek. Arizona employers must pay overtime unless the employee is exempt from overtime pay. Wage and hour law also covers other benefits, such as meal and break periods. Employers must provide employees with two 15-minute breaks for every 8 hours of work, and they must give employees at least 30 minutes of unpaid meal time after they have worked for 5 consecutive hours. Finally, wage and hour laws provide employees with the right to be paid fairly and receive their earned wages on time. Arizona employers are required to provide their employees with termination pay, which is the wages and benefits the employee would have earned if they had continued working until the end of their employment. These laws also guarantee employees will be paid for time they worked, even if the employer does not pay them until later.
