What is the difference between wrongful termination and unfair dismissal?
Wrongful termination and unfair dismissal are terms often used interchangeably, but in the legal context, they have different meanings. In North Carolina, wrongful termination is when an employee is terminated for a reason that violates their legal rights. Unfair dismissal is not illegal, but the employee may be able to sue the employer for damages.
