What is the job accommodation network and how can it help me?

The Job Accommodation Network (JAN) is an important resource for people with disabilities living in New Mexico who need help finding and maintaining employment. JAN is a free consulting service provided by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP). With its extensive resources, JAN helps employers and people with disabilities identify job accommodations and workplace accommodations to best meet the needs of the individual. JAN’s services are available to everyone, from students to people already employed who need help keeping their job. They provide guidance to employers who may need to change the work environment or job to accommodate a disability, as well as assistance to people with disabilities who need help understanding their rights, making decisions, and advocating for reasonable accommodations. If you are a person with a disability living in New Mexico, JAN can provide personalized assistance for your job search. They can help you learn about reasonable accommodations, connect you with employers who are committed to hiring people with disabilities, and provide you with resources to find employers who are willing to make reasonable accommodations in the workplace. The Job Accommodation Network can help make the transition to the workplace easier for people with disabilities. By providing tailored advice, resources, and support to employers and job seekers, JAN can help people with disabilities live and work independently.
