What are the consequences of a 2nd DUI in the state of Georgia?

In the state of Georgia, the consequences of a 2nd DUI can be severe. If a person is found guilty of a 2nd DUI within 10 years of the 1st DUI, they will face a mandatory jail sentence of no less than 72 hours and no more than 12 months, as well as a fine of $600 to $1,000. Additionally, they may be required to perform up to 30 days of community service, their license will be suspended for up to 3 years, and they will be required to attend alcohol and drug counseling.
