Are employers obligated to provide long-term disability insurance?
In Washington, employers are not obligated to provide long-term disability insurance for employees. The state does not have a law that requires employers to do so. However, employers are required to comply with federal disability rights laws like the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
