What is an E visa?

An E visa is an immigration visa used by individuals from certain countries to work and invest in the United States. It is also known as a Treaty Trader or Treaty Investor visa. The E visa is divided into two categories: the E-1 visa and the E-2 visa. The E-1 visa is applicable to individuals from countries that have a treaty of commerce and navigation with the United States. It is issued to foreign-based traders and investors who conduct substantial trade between the US and their home countries. The E-2 visa is issued to treaty investors who bring business capital and make substantial investments in the U.S. economy. It is also applicable to individuals from countries that have a treaty with the United States. In California, the E-2 visa is commonly used by foreign investors who wish to operate a business in the state. This process is governed by the California Employment Development Department. In addition, certain foreign workers may also be eligible for an E-1 or E-2 visa if they meet certain requirements. Ultimately, the E visa provides foreign investors and traders the opportunity to do business in the United States. Furthermore, those who are approved to receive an E visa are granted the ability to live and work in the US.
