What is an O visa?

An O visa is a type of visa issued by the United States government to certain individuals who possess extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, and athletics fields, or in other special fields. This visa is specifically designed for those who are entering the United States to work temporarily. In California, the O visa can be used to provide employment for workers in fields such as fashion, film, and television. The two types of O visa are the O-1A visa and the O-1B visa. The O-1A visa is for persons who possess extraordinary ability in the sciences, education, business, or athletics, while the O-1B visa is for individuals who possess extraordinary ability in the arts or extraordinary achievements in the motion picture or television industry. To qualify for either of these visas, applicants must demonstrate their qualifications through extensive documentation, including a letter from an organization or expert in the relevant field. The O visa program requires a valid employment offer from an employer in the United States and evidence of the applicant’s qualifications. Applicants must also demonstrate that they are of high repute, that they are being sought after in the field, and have an employer willing to sponsor them in the country. Additionally, the O visa program also requires that the applicant must have a qualifying relationship with the employer and have an appropriate rate of pay.
