What is the EB-1 visa?
The EB-1 visa is a type of permanent resident visa that helps employers in Washington to hire foreign workers. This visa is part of the employment-based immigration law that provides foreign national employees with permanent residency in the U.S. The EB-1 visa is specifically designed for individuals with exceptional skills and qualifications. This includes those in the fields of science, education, art, and athletics. It also includes those with an extraordinary ability in business or the sciences, or outstanding professors and researchers. The foreign worker must demonstrate that they possess these qualities by establishing that they have achieved a level of acclaim or extraordinary accomplishment in the relevant field. This is typically proven through either a documented record of past major accomplishments or an extremely high potential for future success. The employer must also demonstrate the work proposed for the foreign worker is of a level of excellence. This means that the visa applicant must be able to prove that the job offers a unique opportunity or an extraordinarily important role to the employer. This further requires that the prospective employee has a great level of advanced knowledge and skill related to the position. Once these requirements are met, the foreign worker can proceed with the EB-1 visa application. If accepted, this visas offers the foreign national the chance to permanently reside in the United States.
