What is an E-1 visa?
An E-1 visa is a type of visa commonly granted to individuals living in the United States who want to work in Virginia. This visa is also known as an "employment-based" visa, meaning it is intended for those looking for a job in the state. The E-1 visa was specifically designed for those individuals living abroad and wanting to establish trade or business activity in the United States, including Virginia. This visa allows foreign investors and certain traders the opportunity to live and work in the United States. To qualify for an E-1 visa, applicants must be a citizen of a country that has a treaty with the United States. Additionally, applicants must be able to demonstrate that they intend to engage in substantial trade with the United States, or to conduct a qualifying business in Virginia. This means that applicants must provide evidence of a business plan, financials, and other related documents that prove that their business or professional activities will be conducted in Virginia. Once the visa is approved by USCIS, the holder of the visa can then travel to the US, live and work in Virginia, and begin to make a living. The E-1 visa is typically a renewable visa, meaning it can be extended and renewed for a period of time determined by the USCIS.
