What is the H-1B1 visa?
The H-1B1 visa is a type of work visa issued by the United States government to foreign nationals in order to temporarily work in the country. This visa is specific to the state of California, and has employment restrictions that are different than the H-1B visa. The H-1B1 visa allows foreign nationals to temporarily work in the United States for up to 18 months. This visa is usually reserved for highly-skilled workers in specialized fields, such as engineering, computer programming, and finance. In order to qualify for an H-1B1 visa, applicants must have a job offer from a U.S. employer, as well as a valid work permit. The applicant must also have a bachelor’s degree or higher that is recognized in the United States, and must be able to provide proof of their qualifications for the job. Once the visa has been issued, the worker is legally authorized to stay in the country and work for the specified employer. The H-1B1 visa can be extended after the 18-month period, if the employer still requires the individual’s services. After the end of the visa period, the individual must leave the country or apply for permanent residence status.
