What is the I-20 form?

The I-20 form is an important document in the process of applying for admission to a school in the United States. The form is issued by a school that has been approved by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to accept international students. It serves as proof of acceptance to the school and provides the student with the information necessary for obtaining an F-1 student visa. The I-20 form will provide the student with information about their financial status and how they will pay for their tuition and living expenses. It also includes information about the school, such as the length of the program, courses of study, and expected completion date. Additionally, the I-20 form will provide the student’s SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) Identification Number that they will need to complete their visa application. The I-20 form from the school must be presented upon entry into the United States if the student wishes to obtain an F-1 student visa. The student must also provide proof of financial stability to demonstrate that he or she will not become a financial burden on the United States government. Upon entry with the I-20 form and a valid visa, the student will be officially enrolled in the school and will be allowed to remain in the United States for the duration of the program.
