What is industrial relations law?

Industrial relations law is the body of laws, regulations, and court decisions that govern the relationship between employers and employees. In New Hampshire, this law typically applies to issues such as fair wages, safe working conditions, and the resolution of disputes between employers and employees. The main purpose of industrial relations law is to protect workers’ rights and ensure they are treated fairly by employers. In New Hampshire, the Industrial Relations Act of 1967 states that employers must provide a safe working environment, pay a fair wage, and address employee grievances in a timely and equitable manner. New Hampshire’s Bureau of Labor and Industrial Relations (BLIR) is responsible for enforcing industrial relations law. The BLIR also provides guidance and resources for employers and employees, including a dispute resolution procedure that allows for mediation or arbitration in cases of disagreements between employers and employees. Industrial relations law is designed to ensure that employers and employees are treated fairly and that workers are provided with a safe and healthy working environment. It is important for both employers and employees in New Hampshire to understand and abide by industrial relations law in order to maintain a productive and harmonious workplace.
