What is the scope of the Convention on Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic?

The Convention on Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic (FAL) is an international treaty which aims to improve global maritime transportation by establishing procedural standards and uniform regulations. The FAL Convention was adopted by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in 1965 and entered into force in 1967. It has been ratified by more than 160 countries, including Florida. The scope of the FAL Convention covers a wide range of matters relating to the facilitation of international maritime traffic.
