Yes, there are special benefits available to veterans of the Peace Corps in California. The California Department of Veterans Affairs provides a variety of benefits, services, and supports to Peace Corps veterans. Peace Corps veterans in California who served for at least 12 months are eligible for some of the same State veterans benefits and services as other veterans, such as education, housing, and employment assistance. Additionally, Peace Corps veterans are entitled to pursue disability benefits for conditions that are service-connected as long as the condition occurred during, or was aggravated by, their service.
