Yes, Delaware veterans who are veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom are eligible for special benefits and services from the state government, as well as from the federal government. The Delaware Division of Veterans Affairs provides a variety of benefits and services to veterans and their families, including an education benefit, health care, and burial assistance. For those who have served in Operation Enduring Freedom, the Division offers an additional tracing service which helps veterans to locate and obtain military records and verify service time and ranks. This service can help veterans qualify for the Delaware Veterans Bonus, as well as for other federal and state benefits. The Delaware Division also offers financial assistance to help veterans buy a home, to assist with medical expenses, and for repairs to the home of a disabled veteran. Veterans can also receive assistance with employment counseling, job placement, and the purchase of necessary tools and equipment. Veterans who are members of the Delaware National Guard, as well as their families, can receive tuition assistance for up to 131 credit hours of college-level education. In addition, the Delaware Veterans Home offers short-term and long-term residential care for seniors and disabled veterans. The Delaware Division of Veterans Affairs is dedicated to providing assistance and care to Operation Enduring Freedom veterans, their families, and other veterans throughout the state.
