What is the H-3 trainee visa?

The H-3 trainee visa is an employment-based visa for individuals who wish to receive training in the United States that is unavailable in their own country. It is available to individuals from any country, but the training must be approved by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). In order to get an H-3 visa, the trainee must have a job offer from a United States employer and a detailed training program that has been outlined by the employer. The training program must include a description of the training, the dates and duration of the training, and the skills the individual will gain. In addition to the job offer and the detailed training program, the individual must also meet certain criteria. They must have a residence abroad that they do not intend to abandon, demonstrate that they plan on returning to their home country upon completion of the training, and prove that the training is not available in their country of residence. The H-3 visa is valid for a maximum period of two years, but can be extended for an additional period not to exceed six months. During the time in which the visa is valid, the individual is allowed to travel, study, and take part in voluntary service programs. However, they are not allowed to take part in any form of employment. The H-3 trainee visa is a great opportunity for individuals who have a job offer from a United States employer and would like to gain skills and experience in the United States that are unavailable in their own country.
