How do veterans access health care services?

Veterans in California have access to health care services through the federal Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) health care system. In order to access these services, veterans must first enroll in VA health care. To do this, they must complete an application, called the VA Form 10-10EZ. This can be done online or in person at the local VA medical center. Once enrolled, veterans can access a variety of health care services. These health care services include primary care, mental health care, prescription drugs, and more. Many of these services are provided for free, but others may require a copay or have other restrictions. Additionally, veterans may be eligible for special disability benefits if they are unable to work due to a service-related disability. These benefits can cover medical expenses, rehabilitation services, and other costs associated with their disability. Finally, veterans who served in the military for more than 20 years may be eligible for Medicare coverage. Veterans must apply for Medicare through the Social Security office, and can also receive additional assistance through local VA medical centers. By enrolling in VA health care and understanding the benefits available to them, veterans in California can access both basic and advanced health care services.
