How do I know if my workers' compensation claim has been approved?
In Washington, it is fairly easy to tell if your workers’ compensation claim has been approved. The Washington Department of Labor & Industries will send you a letter to notify you of their decision. This letter will either approve your claim or deny it. If your claim has been approved, the letter will explain what benefits you will receive and any other details related to your compensation. If you have any questions or concerns, you should contact the Claims Examiner assigned to your claim to discuss it further. Another way you can check whether or not your claim was approved is to visit the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries website. You can check the status of your claim and review your benefits using the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries online system. If you think your claim has been approved, but you do not receive a notification letter, contact the Claims Examiner assigned to your claim. They will be able to provide you with information on the status of your claim even if it has been denied. If your claim has been approved, you will be able to start receiving your benefits. If the claim is still being processed or denied, the Claims Examiner can explain why.
