Yes, it is illegal for employers to discriminate against employees who have disabilities in Utah. According to Utah Code Section 34A-5-106, employers in Utah are prohibited from discriminating or retaliating against individuals based on their disability or perceived disability. This includes refusing to hire, promoting, demoting, or terminating an employee based on their disability or perceived disability. Employers also cannot limit, segregate, or classify employees in any way that would limit their job opportunities or otherwise adversely affect their status as an employee due to their disability.
