What is the purpose of FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act)?
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that provides students in Washington with certain rights regarding their educational records. The purpose of FERPA is to protect the privacy of a student’s educational records as well as to ensure that parents or eligible students (student age 18 or over) have access to certain information stored in their educational record.
