What is employment law?
Employment law is a set of rules and regulations that govern the relationship between employers and employees. In Idaho, employment laws provide workers with certain rights, such as the right to be free from discrimination, the right to receive minimum wage, the right to be paid for overtime work, the right to receive health and safety protections, and the right to join a union. Employment laws also set out the obligations of employers, such as providing employees with a safe and healthy workplace, paying them a fair wage, and not discriminating against them because of their race, gender, age, religion, or disability. All employers in Idaho are required to comply with the laws. Additionally, employees who believe that their rights have been violated can file a complaint with the Idaho Department of Labor.
